Locals for Liberty

We are Locals for Liberty. We are a group of concerned citizens in South Florida who found each other through different forms of social media during the nightmare year of 2020. We meet in person at least once a month to discuss local issues, how we can become involved and to socialize with fellow Patriots. We love America and we love Florida.

Recap of December Monthly Meeting

Hello everyone! We had a jam-packed meeting last night full of information on how we tackle 2022. Mike Caruso, Florida State House of Representatives District 89, was the guest speaker. He gave us a great "civics" lesson on how the state of Florida government works and the roles of the different representatives. He also discussed many of the new bills passed in the special session relating to Covid mandates and the "riot" bills passed earlier this year.

We also had a surprise guest speaker running for PBC school board District 3, Bailey Lashells, aka "Fiona's Mom." Many of you know the story of little Fiona who got suspended multiple time for refusing to wear a mask in school. She was a part of Gov. DeSantis' legislation signing in Brandon, FL. Her mom has decided to run for school board to make sure parents have a voice and are heard by the people making decisions in our schools. www.votefionasmom.com

Abby and Josie both gave presentations on the county commissioners and school board elections that will be taking place in Broward and Palm Beach counties. The new maps for redistricting were voted on and approved late yesterday so we were able to share the changes. Both counties have new lines, but Broward has some significant changes. The maps will be posted below.

Seat up for Election or Retention

Broward Commission Districts 2, 4, 6 & 8 and School Board Districts 1, 4, 6, 7 & 8.
PBC Commission Districts 2, 4 & 6 and School Board Districts 3, 4, 6 & 7.

Marci discussed all our efforts to help with the Special Election for Congressional District 20. We are using this as an opportunity to help with a very underrepresented district and to prepare ourselves for all the elections we face in 2022. Much of the benefit from helping with this campaign has to do with election integrity. We are campaigning and canvassing at the same time. Whether by phone or in person we are making sure the voter rolls are accurate and up to date. This is something we all will need to continue next year.

Michael and Sarah both gave volunteer testimonials about their experience door-knocking and phone banking for the first time. They both agree that reaching our fellow conservatives (some for the first time) is an amazing experience for themselves and often appreciated by the recipient.

We also need to give a huge THANK YOU to Ralph Cinelli for providing the sound system last night. All our vocal cords appreciate the relief, and we could be heard all the way to the back of the room!

We are planning to setup a phone banking party locally and have people out knocking ASAP. There are also plans to have booths setup at local Farmer's Market and Gun Shows.

If you have any questions on how to participate as a door knocker, driver, phone banker or special events booth please feel free to contact me at 561-400-6563 or email to [email protected]

You can also contact the campaign coordinator Jodi Schwartz directly at 561-908-1190 or [email protected]. Tell her Locals for Liberty sent you and you want to be on the Locals for Mariner team!

I wanted to share with all of you who missed Tuesday’s L4L meeting, this is why I have not been as attentive to Locals for Liberty. I am hoping there are some members who will be able to step up and help maintain our wonderful community through the election on Nov 8.
I am going to give this campaign my best and hope any of you who can spare time, energy and resources will help me. There are many amazing candidates who want to right this ship. If not me, please find someone you can support and help them. Together we can do this!
